- Superquinn’s distribution centre operated with a label stock picking system, which was inefficient and hindered accurate order fulfillment
- A solution that would speed up the stock picking process, reduce picking errors, and integrate fully into the host SAP system was needed
The Solution:
- Psion Teklogix partner, Heavey RF, provided comprehensive new inventory management system, highlighted by a speech-directed picking system
- The system consisted of rugged handheld and vehicle mount computers, Mobile Integration Suite (MIS) interface platform, and wireless network – all from Psion Teklogix
- The MIS converts electronic orders to speech and sends instructions over the wireless network to the handhelds or vehicle mount computers
- Workers confirm that orders have been retrieved and the central SAP system is updated in real time
